MAVERICK XR-40 Set Up Guide
Maverick’s XR series is equipped with Insta-Sync technology which will connect the units automatically as long as they are within range, and update every time a change in temperature is detected.
If you’re having problems connecting the units:
- Resync manually by pressing and holding button on back of transmitter
- Replace batteries in both units; low power is the most common cause of connection problems.
Food Mode: This setting will allow you to set one temperature alert, letting you know when food is fully cooked
- Press and hold SET on the receiver for 2 seconds. The unit will beep and the probe number will begin to flash in the upper left corner
- Optional: Press the Probe button in upper left to toggle between probes
- When the probe number is flashing in the upper left, press MEAT/TASTE
- The [MEAT] will flash in the top field of the receiver
- The HI temperature will flash in the probe # field you have selected
- Press MEAT/TASTE button to scroll through different types of meat.
- Press SET once you reach the desired type of meat.
- The [TASTE] will begin to flash below the [MEAT].
- Press MEAT/TASTE to toggle between preset temperatures
- OR Use the arrow keys to adjust to your desired temperature.
- Press SET to lock the temperature. Set up for FOOD mode is complete
BBQ Mode: This setting allows you to set two temperature alerts, letting you know if your cooking environment has gone above or dropped below your desired temperatures
- Press and hold SET on the receiver for 2 seconds. The unit will beep and the probe number will begin to flash in the upper left corner
- Optional: Press the Probe button in upper left to toggle between probes
- When the probe number is flashing in the upper left, Press BBQ, you will see “BARBECUE” flashing next to the Probe #
- Press BBQ again; The HI Temperature will begin to flash. Use arrow keys to adjust temperature.
- Press BBQ again; the LO Temperature will begin to flash. Use the arrow keys to adjust.
- You can use BBQ to toggle back and forth between HI and LO temperatures, or, Press SET at any time to lock your settings.
